CBDNOL - What is CBD?

Hemp is considered one of the oldest crops used by humans. The wide range of health-promoting ingredients and the diverse applications in daily life make the hemp plant an important raw material for more than thousands of years. Today, however, the ingredients of the hemp plant can be scientifically researched and provide remarkable insights. For example, hemp cannabinoids are very similar to the endocannabinoids of the body, thereby supporting processes in the higher organs that in turn serve health.

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of over 80 known cannabinoids in this context. CBD is not psychoactive and has particularly positive and health promoting properties. All CBDNOL products are produced by means of various extraction methods from handpicked, EU-certified hemp flowers. This process guarantees a THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content of less than 0.2%.

Cannabidiol (CBD)

What is CBD?

CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is an active ingredient (cannabinoid) derived from the cannabis plant. It is one of many cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. It can be used in various ways and is particularly suitable as a painkiller and remedy for various diseases. In particular, joint and muscle pain and nervous tension can be alleviated by the CBD. Numerous studies also show an anti-epileptic and anti-psychotic effect of CBD. It is thus a very versatile active ingredient that is enjoying increasing popularity.

Can CBD be classified as cannabis?

Cannabis is often colloquially associated with the eponymous intoxicant, which is illegal in much of the world. The name cannabis, however, refers formally to the genus of hemp plant. The hemp and marijuana are from the same plant, cannabis sativa, but are completely different. Until a few years ago, the most prominent drug of the female cannabis plant was delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Cannabis contains in this context several cannabinoids, including CBD and THC, only the effect is different. THC is known to become "high". CBD, on the other hand, is not psychoactive. This means that CBD has no intoxicating effects when consumed.

Over the years, marijuana farmers have selectively bred their cannabis plants to achieve high levels of THC and to breed different varieties. On the other hand, normal (legal) hemp farmers have not changed their plant and continue to produce thousands of products that come from hemp and are used on a daily basis. These cannabis plants, which are allowed to have a maximum THC content of 0.2% in the EU, will in turn extract the legal cannabinoid. CBD can therefore under no circumstances be classified as marijuana.

How does the operation of the CBD work?

In order to understand the mode of action in the body, it helps to orientate oneself on the human endocannabinoid system. This system is a component of the nervous system and is responsible among other things for the immune system and the pain relief. An influence on this system thus has a direct effect on pain, nerves and health. Different research results have shown that CBD and the human endocannabinoid system react positively with each other.

The human body is able to produce certain cannabinoids independently. In addition, the human body has two receptors that interact with cannabinoids. The CB1 receptors in the brain are concerned with coordination, movement, pain, emotions, mood, thinking, appetite, and memory. THC connects directly to these receptors. In contrast, CB2 receptors are found more frequently in the immune system. They affect inflammation and pain. All cannabinoids, including CBD, can naturally bind to certain cannabinoid receptors in the body to produce their effects.

In addition, the CBD is also involved in the maintenance of the body's cannabinoid anandamide. In this way, the CBD can provide antipsychotic function without side effects.

To date, however, it is not fully understood whether cannabidiol acts directly on the receptors or whether it affects the body's own cannabinoid production. In this area, therefore, further scientific knowledge must be generated to understand the full use of CBD in the body.

Known functions of the CBD

CBD is often known for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory function. However, the active ingredient can also convince through its diverse application areas.

These side effects should be noted:

As a rule, the consumption of quality CBD products has no known side effects. Accordingly, should always be paid to the selection of CBD on an appropriate quality. People who are affected by a serious or chronic condition should always consult their doctor. For healthy women, CBD should be avoided during pregnancy, as it may reduce the protective function of the placenta.

Overall, the CBD products are convincing due to their broad application areas and minimal side effects. Hardly any other crop can provide such a wide range of possibilities. The CBD drug can not cure serious illnesses, but it leads without risk to an optimized well-being and a higher quality of life.
